Jabalpur: In a move aimed at providing enhanced convenience for passengers during the Shradh Paksha period, the Indian Railways has announced the operation of a special train service between Jabalpur and Gaya. This special train will offer three trips from Jabalpur to Gaya and four trips in the opposite direction from Gaya to Jabalpur. Railway passengers can secure reservations for this Pitru Paksha Special train through computerized reservation centres or the online IRCTC website.
Train number 01705, the Jabalpur to Gaya special train, is scheduled to operate on September 30, 2023, October 5, 2023, and October 10, 2023. Departing from Jabalpur station at 19:45 hours, the train will make stops at Sihora Road (20:23), Katni (21:00), Maihar (21:48), Satna (22:35), Manikpur (00:10 the next day), Prayagraj Chheoki (01:55), Mirzapur (03:10), Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay (05:10), Sasaram (06:30), and Dehri on Saturday (06:53).
Similarly, for the return journey, train number 01706, the Gaya to Jabalpur special train, will run from Gaya station on September 29, 2023, October 4, 2023, October 9, 2023, and October 14, 2023. The train will depart from Anugrah Narayan Road (14:15), stop at Dehri Onson (15:13), Sasaram (15:30), Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay (15:45), Mirzapur (17:20), Prayagraj Chheoki (19:08), Manikpur (20:55), Satna (23:55 the next day), Maihar (00:55 the next day), Satna (01:28 the next day), and Satna (02:30 the next day).
The passenger special train comprises a total of 10 AC 3rd class, 2 AC Economy III Class, 1 Sleeper Class, 1 General Class, 20 Generator Car, and 139 SLRD coaches. Passengers are advised to obtain information about this special train service through the railway enquiry service NTES or other authorized channels provided by the Railways. This initiative aims to facilitate travel for individuals observing the Pitru Paksha rituals during this period.
