Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan didn’t hold back his criticism when he commented on the Congress party’s election manifesto, referring to it as more of a “letter of lies” than a manifesto. Chouhan expressed doubt about the credibility of the Congress’s promises, highlighting their history of commitments over the five years.
He pointed out that despite making over 900 promises during their term, they managed to fulfill a fraction of them. He questioned whether the promised Rs 4,000 unemployment allowance for youth and the bonus on support prices would ever come to fruition dismissing the Congress’s pledges as false.
Chouhan also took this opportunity to draw a comparison between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emphasizing how the BJP has consistently delivered on its commitments. As an example, he mentioned the implementation of programs like ‘Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana,’ which was not initially mentioned in their vision letter but was effectively implemented by the BJP.
In response, Congress Spokesperson Abbas Hafeez defended their manifesto by referring to it as their “promise letter.” He asserted that Kamal Nath, the Chief Minister, had indeed fulfilled the promises made in their manifesto.
Hafeez went on to criticize the BJP, highlighting that people often accuse them of not delivering on their promises. He mentioned that despite the BJP publishing four manifestos, over the twenty years, many of their commitments have not been fulfilled.
