Bhopal: Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav made an announcement during his two-day campaign tour in Madhya Pradesh. He stated that his party is committed to promoting women’s participation in politics and will reserve 20 percent of the tickets for women candidates in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.

While addressing a gathering in Rewa district, Yadav emphasized the party’s dedication to providing opportunities for women who have actively contributed to the party and its goals on the ground. “We want to convey to women that if any woman or any female office bearer of our organization has worked tirelessly in the field, then the Samajwadi Party will reward them by allocating 20 percent of tickets for women,” said Yadav.

Yadav also used this opportunity to critique the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their stance on women’s reservation. He accused them of lacking transparency and spreading misinformation regarding their reservation policies. “The BJP talks about empowering women through reservations. I ask them what percentage of tickets did they allocate to candidates in previous Madhya Pradesh assembly elections?” Yadav questioned. He further highlighted an inconsistency between the BJP’s rhetoric and their actions by asking whether they had actually reserved 33 percent of their tickets for women candidates not only in Madhya Pradesh but also in other states.

Akhilesh Yadav’s statement highlights the dedication of his party to promoting equality between genders and encouraging women’s involvement in politics.
