Bhopal: There is a possibility of rain in many districts of Madhya Pradesh even today. The changed weather in the state has increased the concern of farmers. Farmers’ crops have been ruined due to hailstorm in many districts. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has surveyed the damaged crops and given instructions for compensation. Earlier on Wednesday, the issue of crop wastage was raised in the House by the opposition.
There is a possibility of rain with thunder in a dozen districts of MP. According to the Meteorological Department, rain alert has been issued in the districts of Shahdol division including Singrauli, Sidhi, Mauganj, Dindori, Jabalpur. The worries of farmers have increased due to unseasonal rain and hailstorms in the state.
CM Mohan has given instructions to immediately survey the damage caused due to untimely rain and hailstorms in some districts of Central Eastern Madhya Pradesh from 11 to 14 February. He has said that no farmer affected by hailstorms should be left out of relief and survey. After the survey, collectors have been instructed to distribute the relief amount to the farmers in RBC 6(4).
Instructions have been given for immediate survey on the information of crops of 3 thousand 701 farmers of 343 villages of 34 tehsils of Balaghat, Katni, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Didori, Mandla, Satna, Singrauli, Panna, Anuppur and Chhatarpur being affected. It has been asked to provide relief as per the provisions of the Revenue Book Circular. A sufficient amount of budget is available to approve the relief amount.
An amount of Rs 121 crore has been distributed by the state government to the hailstorm-affected people in the financial year 2023-24. In the last three years, assistance worth Rs 1,820 crore has been given to farmers affected by natural disasters.
