Indore: In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Central Staff Officers took out a mini-marathon to spread the message of awareness to the people about traffic rules and drug abuse. In this series, Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya also participated in the marathon. Indore-based Central Government Employees Kalyan conducted an awareness mini marathon focusing on traffic rules and ill effects of drug abuse. This marathon returned at 7:30 am via Nehru Stadium via Shivaji Statue, Geeta Bhawan Square, Palasia Square, Guitar Square.
Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee, Marathon was flagged off by Madhya Pradesh Government Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava. About 500 central officer employees participated in the marathon. Mainly involved in the marathon are Income Tax, Central Excise, Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, CGST, Department of Posts, BSF, CIF, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Narcotics, Ministry of Tourism, Narmada Valley Development Authority, Central Public Works Department, Raja Ramanna Pragati Center for Technology, IIM, Officers and employees of departments like IIT, Central Bureau of Communications participated.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old ultra marathoner from Indore has embarked on a 1,008 km run from Indore in Madhya Pradesh to Ayodhya in UP to reach the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22. Embarking on a 14-day journey, Karthik Joshi initiated his run to Ayodhya on Friday amidst chants of ‘Jai Jai Siya Ram.’ The event saw Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav waving saffron flags to bid him farewell on this religious expedition.
