Bhopal: A noteworthy political landscape is emerging in Madhya Pradesh as the state prepares for elections. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan recently shared that there are over 56 million voters in the state. In a press conference held in Bhopal, Rajan informed that a comprehensive survey was conducted across all 230 assembly constituencies, resulting in a count of 56,060,925 registered voters.

This substantial voter base comprises around 28 million voters and 27.2 million female voters. Additionally, there are 75,304 service voters and 1,373 individuals identifying as the gender.

Interestingly, there are 29 assembly constituencies where the number of voters exceeds that of their male counterparts. This highlights the increasing influence and participation of women in the process.

The data also sheds light on the age distribution of voters. 2.23 million voters fall within the age group of 18 to 19 years old. Moreover, a significant portion of about 14.5 million voters belong to the age bracket of 20 to 29 years old. Constituting around 25% of the electorate. Notably, there are more than 650 thousand voters who are above the age of eighty, showcasing a diverse and multi-generational electorate.

There are approximately five thousand one hundred twenty-four registered voters who have surpassed one hundred years old, with a predominance of female participants within this group. The gender ratio among registered voters stands at one thousand males for every nine hundred forty-five females within the state.

In a twist to the scenario, the Balaghat assembly constituency’s center number 53 Sonewani (vangram) stands out for having the smallest number of eligible voters. Surprisingly 42 individuals are eligible to exercise their voting rights in this area.
