Datia: A tragic incident of violence occurred in the Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, where two groups clashed over a dispute concerning cattle. The police reported that five individuals died, and three others were injured during the event on Wednesday.
According to Pradeep Sharma, the Superintendent of Police in Datia,, the clash occurred between members of the Pal and Dangi communities in the village of Reda within the district.
The conflict originated from a disagreement two days prior when both groups had claims regarding grazing rights for their agricultural lands. To resolve the issue, they organized a panchayat meeting on Wednesday. Regrettably, finding a solution, tensions escalated into physical violence as both groups resorted to gunfire. This resulted in the loss of five lives.
Upon receiving information about the incident, law enforcement swiftly arrived. The three injured individuals were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. According to reports, these victims are currently in good condition.
One of those injured individuals, Gyan Singh Pal, provided an account of what transpired during the altercation; “There was a dispute, with members of the Dangi community regarding driving away cattle. We arrived with the intention of resolving the issue. Unexpectedly they began shooting at us. Unfortunately I sustained a gunshot wound in my leg.”
