Bhopal: Chief Minister Shirvaj Singh Chouhan performed the bhoomi pujan of Central India’s first toy cluster, which is being developed in the Rau industrial area. As per the expression of interest (EOI) investment of about Rs 80 cr is likely to be made here and over 3000 jobs are likely to be created.

He also released an installment of self-employment scheme. “My government will help 2.5 lakh, persons, every month to earn a livelihood through self-employment schemes, Chauhan said interacting with the gathering”. He asserted that 22.50 lakh people had been provided work under such schemes this year.

From January to March, the state helped 13 lakh people become self-employed, while the figure was 9.52 lakh between April and July. They have started businesses through loans under various schemes,” he said. ”Loans worth Rs 6,081 crore have been sanctioned for self-employment to 9.52 lakh people in the state between April and July under government schemes. One lakh youth would be given government jobs in the state within the next one year. A total of 16,000 teachers selected for government jobs would be given appointment letters in a grand ceremony in Bhopal on September 3,” he added.

The toy cluster is one of the 42 clusters in the state being developed in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Sunil Gureja, secretary of Indore Toy Manufacturers Association, in a media interaction said that as per the policy of GoI, a cluster can be formed through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). Thus a SPV was formed in 2021 as ‘Indore International Toy Cluster’, wherein also I have been nominated as secretary. Following the approval of the cluster in 2020 by the State Cabinet, the allotment of all the 20 plots of the cluster have been made, which are available in size of 6000 sq. feet to 12,000 sq. feet. He expressed hope that the production of the toys from the cluster would start in the next 3 years.
