Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the announcement of candidates and ticket distribution for the upcoming state assembly elections has triggered discontent among political leaders, leading to a verbal battle between the leaders of both the BJP and Congress. Both parties have leveled serious allegations against each other, and tensions have escalated.

The Congress party has accused the ruling BJP of selling tickets, claiming that the scenario resembles a marketplace rather than a democratic process. Piyush Babel, an advisor to Kamal Nath, the chief of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, stated that the situation from Jabalpur to Mahal indicates that tickets have been sold within the BJP. Babel further likened the BJP to the “Corruption Janata Party,” suggesting rampant corruption within the party. In response, the BJP refuted these claims.

Pankaj Chaturvedi, the BJP spokesperson, emphasized that the BJP follows the principles of “Kamal” (the lotus, the BJP’s symbol) and its identity is rooted in the lotus. He suggested that BJP workers are dedicated to securing victory for Kamal. Amidst these allegations and counter-allegations, the BJP’s media coordinator, Ashish Agrawal, has also made a statement. Agrawal remarked, “My murderer is also my judge. Will he give a fair judgment in my favor?” This statement reflects the intensity of the verbal battle between the parties.

The Congress, on the other hand, is grappling with internal factionalism and dissent, giving rise to what they term “damage control” meetings. The factionalism within Congress is also characterized by humor and satire, with Congress referring to it as “damage control comedy.” The underlying cause of the perceived damage, according to Congress, is the internal strife and factionalism, which they believe necessitates these “damage control” meetings.

The allegations and counter-allegations, combined with internal tensions and infighting, have intensified the political drama in Madhya Pradesh as the state heads into the upcoming assembly elections. It remains to be seen how these developments will impact the electoral landscape and the fortunes of both major political parties.
