VIDISHA: An 8 year old boy fell into a deep well in a field in the Kherkhedi plateau near Anandpur village in Lateri tehsil of Vidisha district officials said. They added that the boy was playing when be fell into the 50 feet deep borewell dug by a farmer last year but left it uncovered.
Rescue operations are already underway to get the boy out safely and earthmoving machines have been brought in to dig up the area, the police said. Arrangements have been made to provide oxygen to the boy, they added. Doctors have been called for monitoring the boys breathing. Meanwhile, arrangements have also beeb made to install cameras in the well to monitor thr boys status constantly. SDM Lateri along with other administration staff has also reached the spot.
The incident came to the fore as locals heard cries from the well. The family of the child was then informed which immediately sought help from the police.
