Madhya Pradesh: Shortly after closure of the withdrawals after 3pm today afternoon, the state election commission has decided to allo election symbols to the participants of the upcoming Panchayat elections.

In Indore district, election symbols will be allotted to the candidates for 17 member posts of Zilla Panchayat, 25 member posts of four Janpad Panchayats and Sarpanch and Panch posts in Gram Panchayats.

Symbols like arrow, two leaves, rising sun, kite, umbrella, cart, lantern, shovel have been designated for use for district panchayat members. Symbols like black board, banyan tree, hut, farmer driving tractor, scales, farmer harvesting crops, torch, cupboard, ceiling fan, television, train engine, telephone, are few of them that will be used for Janpad Panchayat members.

As in formed by the state election commission, the Panchayat elections are scheduled from June 25 to July 8 in three phases. The first phase of voting for three-tier panchayat polls in Madhya Pradesh will be held on June 25, the second phase on July 1 and the third and final phase will be held on July 8.

With the declaration of poll dates for Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Election 2022, the model code of conduct has come into force with immediate effect and will stay in force till July 15.
