Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has announced to commence the vaccination for children between 12 – 14yrs from March 23rd onwards, officials said. However, the central govt has announced to commence the drive from 16th March onwards. Officials cite the delay in training and preparations by the state govt as the reason for the postponement.
Madhya Pradesh Vaccination Officer Dr Santosh Shukla asserting the reason said, “ in view of the upcoming festivals, there has been a delay in the necessary preparations of the Health Department which includes updating the KOVID App as per the requirement for the children.
The centre approved two shots of Biological E’s Corbevax for children between 12-14 years from Wednesday onwards. Two shots of the vaccine would be administered at an interval of 28 days said Health Secretary, Rajesh Bhushan, said on Tuesday.
Corbevax efficacy data has not yet been made public and this has deterred parents from getting their children immunised. So far no official date has been issued by the ministry which would resonate with the parents.
