Bhopal: On the tenth day of the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the proceeding of the House began with the echo of the MHOW incident. The members of the Legislative Assembly of the opposition Congress created a ruckus over the absence of an FIR against the accused in the death of a tribal girl. Bala Bachchan, Kantilal Bhuria, and Sajjan Singh Verma, Pachelal meena raised the matter in the House. As the proceedings increased the ruckus, Speaker Girish Gautam adjourned the proceedings of the House till the Question Hour.

Further, the proceeding resumed by 12 Noon where in Congress MLA Laxmi Sadhau went down to her knees in the House. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra said that the opposition attempts to disrupt the proceedings of the assembly and does not allows the attention and question hour to be fixed.

On March 1, 2023, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda tabled the last budget for the current assembly term. Rs. 3.14 lakh crore budget focused more on the populist schemes ahead of the assembly election scheduled this year-end. The latest Economic Survey Report of Madhya Pradesh revealed an increase in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) by 7.06 percent. Referring to the budget, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state is progressing because of fiscal discipline and inclusive development.
