BHOPAL: The Ladli Behen Yojana was approved at a cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Women in the marginalized sections of society, including small farmers and laborers along with divorced or unmarried women between the age of 23- 60 years are eligible for the scheme. About one crore women come in the above category in the state.
Under the scheme, every individual will be given a financial provision of Rs 1000 per month. Hailing the scheme- CM Chauhan has called the approval – a ‘historic decision’.
The beneficiaries can file applications for the scheme from March 5th. Government officer-employees and social workers will be deployed to help the eligible candidates fill out application forms. The fund will be released from June this year once the process of selection for the scheme is completed.
An outlay of Rs 12,000 crore has been sanctioned every year. A total of Rs60,000 crore will be spent in five years on the well-being of women.
