KHANDWA: The police have imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa city following an abduction after stone pelting said Police on Monday. Tensions prevailed in the city after a group of people staged a protest at Moghat police station in Gandhi Nagar on Sunday following arrests made in the kidnapping case.
An official in the know added that attempts were made to cause communal unrest.
A girl was sitting with two men in a cafe in the Anand Nagar area on Sunday when a group of people allegedly kidnapped the two men, as per police sources. The two were later rescued by the police.
As per the police officials, a case on charges of thrashing and kidnapping against four named persons after a complaint by the two men. Another FIR was registered based on the complaint by the girl.
Based on the two cases, the police detained two, and a lookout was issued for another two.
