Jabalpur: Jabalpur’s CMHO has revoked the registration of 28 private medical facilities in the last three days. The move comes after a devastating fire broke out at the Life Multispeciality Hospital at Damoh Naka on August 1. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Police has announced a cash reward of Rs. 10000 each for information leading to the arrest of three doctors and a senior manager of this Jabalpur-based private hospital.
Cracking a whip on the hospitals lacking safety measures, Jabalpur’s chief medical and health officer (CMHO) revoked the registration of 28 private medical facilities on the grounds of non-compliance of fire safety and other mandatory norms during inspection.
Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna said on Saturday that he had issued an order a day ago for Rs 10000 cash reward each for anybody providing information that leads to the arrest of three doctors and a senior manager at New Life Multi-Specialty Hospital. The preliminary probe into the hospital fire tragedy revealed that there were several shortcomings in fire safety measures and the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the facility had expired. The Police had registered a case of culpable homicide against the four doctors who were also the co-owners of the hospital and its manager.
