Ramniwas Rawat left Congress and joined BJP on 30 April before the Lok Sabha elections. He has been elected MLA for the sixth time from Vijaypur seat of Sheopur district. He has also been the working president of the state Congress. Ramniwas Rawat’s joining BJP has strengthened the BJP in Gwalior-Chambal.

Ramniwas Rawat, a six-time MLA from Vijaypur assembly constituency of Sheopur district, was successful in winning the election in the 2013 assembly election wave when the BJP won 163 out of 230 seats. Ramniwas Rawat was one of the 66 Congress MLAs. Ramniwas Rawat, who had a sharp and loud voice, was one of the Congress leaders who used to strongly put forward the party’s point of view in the assembly and other forums.

Ramniwas Rawat spoke to Lalluram.com before taking oath as minister. During this, he said that he has been called to Raj Bhawan at 9 am. Rawat said that he has been in Congress for a long time, every time he tried to strengthen the party. Congress has deviated from its principles, no ideology is left. Group satraps have emerged. Congress does not recognize a person, the one who recognizes a person, gives work. I will try to live up to the expectations of the public.
