Madhya Pradesh: Heavy Rainfall in Bhopal since Thursday night has posed a serious challenge for the Madhya Pradesh Rail Authorities. The railway track near Kesla Taaku is flooded with water and as a result of strong water flow, the grit alongside the railway track has been washed away. Fearing derailment, the railway authorities immediately stopped the movement of trains on this route. Due to this, many trains were stopped at different railway stations. GT Express, scheduled from Delhi to Chennai was diverted and sent to the destination via Khandwa- Bhusawal rail line.
Secunderabad Patna Express was stopped at Kiratgarh Railway Station. The suspension of many trains has created immense problems for travellers. The Bhopal Railway Authorities issued a statement that due to water logging on the railway tracks in the morning they took the decision of line change for various trains fearing accidents.
Meanwhile, as soon as the rains got lighter, the authorities started going back to the regular schedule but the weather forecasts show that the city will still receive good rainfall. A number of trains reached and departed very late from their scheduled time on Friday because of risky rail tracks and overflow thereon. As a safety measure, the trains are being departed at a speed of just 10 kmph.
