Indore: In a shocking incident of ragging, first-year students of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College Indore have accused their seniors (third-year students) of ragging, harassment and assault.
“We are being forced to have ‘s*x’ with pillows and abuse our fellow girl classmates,” the students alleged. The first-year students accused their seniors of the heinous crime.
The incident came to light when the students filed a complaint with the Anti Ragging Helpline of the University Grants Commission (UGC). In the complaint, the victims alleged that their seniors forced them to perform indecent and obscene acts, including unnatural sex. They then asked them to name any female batch mate and make derogatory comments about her.
“An aggrieved student had complained to the UGC’s anti-ragging helpline a few days ago. Following this, a meeting of the anti-ragging committee was convened immediately on receiving the mail. The committee endorsed an FIR and a letter was sent to the police,” MGM Medical College Dean Dr Sanjay Dixit said.
The matter was then forwarded to the Police, where a complaint was lodged by the MGMMC dean. An FIR was lodged naming 8-10 students under Sections 294, 323, and 506 of the Anti Ragging Act said Sanyogita Ganj police station in-charge Tehzeeb Qazi.
