Bhopal: The new policy of the Madhya Pradesh’s government for contract employees officers has been embroiled in controversies. Employees have described many conditions and provisions written in this policy as completely opposite to the announcements made by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The contract workers claim that CM Chouhan had talked about terminating the contract. Contrarily, the officer himself can terminate the contract on the basis of annual work evaluation.
Contract workers are also complaining that this contract policy has given the officers an opportunites to make them more doctoral. 100 percent salary will be calculated considering the basic salary of the employee of 2018 as basis, however, no protection of any kind is given nor there is an provision for suspension.
Sayed Jaffer, MP’s Congress leader has further written that under the contract policy made in 2018, the contract employees were to be given 90% honorarium equivalent to the regular post but till date it was not given. Under the Contract Policy 2018, 20% contract employees were to be regularised, till date no contract has been regularised. The Contract Policy 2023, issued by the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Equal Administration Department, mentions giving 100% honorarium equivalent to the regular post, but there is no assurance when the Shivraj government will be able to give it under such complicated rules. The 2018 contract policy mentions 50% instead of regularizing 20%, but the rules are so complex that the Shivraj government will not be able to regularize anyone.
