Panna, Madhya Pradesh : The Panna police on Thursday successfully apprehended accused cultivating Ganja at their residence. Nearly 507 units of hemp plant were seized from the accused portico. The confiscated contraband is reported to cost Rs 5.76 lakh, according to police.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided the residence of 30-year-old in under Saleha police station area in Birha village. The raid was carried out by the SDOP Gunaur Piyush Kumar Mishra and SHO Saleha Sub inspector Suyash Pandey, under the instructions of SP Panna Dharamraj Meena.
The accused has been booked under NDPS Act for illicit cultivation of the contraband. The accused has been arrested and was produced before JR Court from where he was taken to the designated prison. Ganja trade in Madhya Pradesh and its neighbouring states has been on the rise. Police have been regularly tracking down smugglers and confiscating contraband in huge quantity.
