MANDASUR: Over 100 suffered from food poisoning following an iftar party in Mandasur district on Wednesday said an official. Of the total 10 were children who are now stable.
As per reports, 150 people were hospitalized in the Gudari locality of Mandsaur town. After having a feast together, initially, some of them started falling ill complaining of vomiting and diarrhea. As the number of people presenting the symptoms increased ambulances were plied to the spot.
A team of administration and police also rushed to the spot and recorded statements of patients.
Meanwhile, the majority of people were discharged in the morning after treatment at the district hospital.
Reports speculate the sweetener ‘Mawa’ used in the sweets served during Iftar could be the cause behind food poisoning.
