Madhya Pradesh: The OBC Mahsabha has notified to continue the protest it had called on May 21 in regards to the OBC reservation for the upcoming local body polls in Madhya Pradesh.
The call had come after a meeting of state and national level office-bearers of the Mahasabha – an organisation working for issues of other backward classes (OBCs), at Gwalior on 12th May.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday cleared the way for up to 35 per cent reservation for the politically vital Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in local body elections.
The order reverses instructions issued by the court on May 10 which had asked for elections to be announced without the reservation – a move that had been opposed by the state government.
