Bhopal: The SS Chauhan administration on Tuesday invoked the stringent NSA against the two purporters involved in the violence during Ram Navmi in Khargaone.
The National Security Act was invoked against Nawaz, a resident of Talab Chowk area and Mohsin, a resident of Jakaria Masjid area, said Superintendent of Police Rohit Kashwani for purporting violence as the procession passed by.
So far 153 suspects have been arrested and 65 FIRs have been lodged in connection with the violence. Briefing the press Kashwani urged the local residents to help the police identify the miscreants.
Khargaone on the occasion of Ram Navmi witnessed stone pelting which is claimed to be pre-fabricated according to officials. Meanwhile, CM Chauhan reviewing the law and order on Tuesday demanded a strong intelligence system in the state and instructed Additional Director General of Police Adarsh Katiyar to chalk out an action plan.
Notably, intelligence failure is being cited as one of the major reasons behind the recent incident in Khargaone.
