Niwari: A big decision has been taken to ban liquor in a village in Madhya Pradesh. The Gram Panchayat has unanimously banned the consumption and sale of liquor in the village. No person will sell raw or processed liquor inside the village. A heavy fine will also be imposed for violating this decision.
A historic decision to ban liquor has been taken in Kishorpura village of Niwari district. The villagers took an oath in the name of God and said that they will never sell liquor in their lifetime. The Panchayat has also decided that whoever sells liquor in the village will have to pay a fine of Rs 11,000 along with a penalty.
Actually, the Panchayat has taken this decision because the youth of the village are getting addicted to drugs and some people, under the influence of alcohol, beat and abuse children at home, which is having a negative impact on the society. The villagers believe that due to alcohol, the incidents of crime and violence are increasing in the village.
It was told that for many years, the practice of making illegal liquor and quarreling after drinking liquor has been going on in this village. Due to this, the women of the village were also troubled by family discord. Now the villagers are also happy with the decision of prohibition of liquor in the village.
