NEW DELHI: Raids are underway at several locations in MP, Maharashtra, and Gujarat in connection to the Ghazwa-e-hind case. NIA that has launched the search operation on Thursday said that multiple teams have been formed to carry out the raids. While three places each in Nagpur and Gujarat are being raided, searches are on one location in Gwalior.

The places searched included the residential premises and hideouts of the suspects involved in the anti-national activities and radicalization of impressionable youth through social media. A source from the central agency said- “This is the Ghazwa-e-hind case in which the accused planned to make India an Islamic state by 2047. We have seized a number of incriminating documents.”

The NIA registered the Gazwa-e-Hind case on July 22 last year at Phulwarisharif Police Station in Bihar. It was on Jan 6th last year, a charge sheet against an accused in NIA Special Court in Bihar in the case.

Ghazwa-e-hind is a WhatsApp group created by accused Margub Ahmad Danish, a self-radicalized individual through which he was in contact with several foreign entities. “In this group, terrorist acts and activities in Kashmir were being glorified with the view to radicalize impressionable youth. He had also created another WhatsApp group in the name of Ghazwa-e-Hind BD and was propagating conquest of India through violence,” the NIA had said earlier.
