Jabalpur: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out raids in the city of Jabalpur. These raids took place on Friday night. All the individuals who were allegedly having their involvement in terror funding were targeted in this raid.

The NIA team, accompanied by local police officials, focused on the residences of Maqsood Kabari and Ahad Ullah Usmani, who are known associates of Abdul Razzaq, a prime accused in terror financing cases. Simultaneous raids were conducted at approximately 10 locations, leading to over 100 people coming under suspicion. Many have been taken into custody while some have been arrested.

The intensive operation lasted for about 12 hours. Notably, the NIA team arrested senior advocate Ahad Ullah Usmani, along with his brother Aman Ullah Usmani and Aman’s son Arham. Additionally, individuals identified as Shahnawaz Khan, Nayeem Khan, and Mamoor of Kasood Kabari’s family were also detained. Of significance is Nayeem Khan, who had previously represented individuals associated with the banned organization SIMI.

NIA officials have been actively investigating and monitoring the hideouts of advocate A. Usmani, who resides in Dr Raza Compound on Ghantaghar Tayyabali Marg, as well as Lucky, a resident of an apartment in Civil Lines. The NIA’s swift action underscores their commitment to combating terrorism and disrupting networks involved in funding illegal activities.
