Khandwa: The birthday of the great singer Kishore Kumar, the emperor of melodies, is on August 4. A day before the special occasion, Kishore Kumar’s fans from different states are reaching Khandwa and paying tribute at his samadhi. The Madhya Pradesh government has announced to celebrate Kishore Kumar’s birthday as Khandwa’s pride day.
Music lovers come to Khandwa in large numbers and offer milk jalebi at Kishore Kumar’s tomb and pay tribute to their favorite artist with songs. The state government has decided to celebrate 4 August as Khandwa’s Pride Day. On this occasion, various programs will be organized from 3 to 5 August, including a ‘Kishore Night’ program on the night of 4 August, where many artists will perform.

Khandwa Collector Anup Kumar Singh said that the administration has made special preparations for the occasion. He said, “It is a matter of pride for us that we are celebrating Kishore Kumar’s birthday as Gaurav Diwas. Through various cultural programs, we will remember Kishore Da and cherish his legacy.”
Kishore Kumar’s fans from across the country and abroad come to his hometown Khandwa on 4 August. Rajendra Rokkar, who came from Maharashtra, said, “I have been coming to Kishore Kumar’s Samadhi on 4 August for the last 12 years. I offer milk and jalebi, hum music and remember Dada.” Similarly, Manushree, who came from Maharashtra, also expressed her feelings.
