BHOPAL: A case of H3N2 virus is detected in MP. A young man aged between 20-25 years has reported positive towards H3N2 virus, said an official on Thursday.
The patient complianed of cough and cold following which his swab sample was sent for the test. He is currently asymptomatic now said Bhopal Chief Medical aHealth Officer Dr Prabhakar Tiwari while interacting with the reporters.
The patient, a resident of the Bairagarh area in Bhopal, was not admitted to any hospital and is currently recovering at home, he added.
State authorities are geared up to meet the public challenge following the guidelines formulated by the Centre and Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
H3N2 Infections are on the rise in India. States like Assam, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Haryana and Karnataka- that reported first deaths due to the virus and now MP, each have reported cases of the virus. Centre has issued advisories outlining the steps to be taken to control the spread and treat the infection. Schools have been shut in states like Puducherry and Maharashtra to contain the spread among children. An increased number of hospitalization of children has been reported from Pune.
