Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: There is good news for 4.5 lakh pensioners of the state. Pensioners will get dearness relief at the rate of 33 percent from November. The government has increased the dearness relief of the pensioners getting the seventh pay scale by 5 percent. Whereas, the dearness relief of the pensioners getting the sixth pay scale has increased by 12 percent. They will get dearness relief at the rate of 201 percent.
Till now, pensioners getting the seventh pay scale were getting 28 percent dearness relief and pensioners getting the sixth pay scale were getting dearness relief at the rate of 189 percent. Employees removed from service will also be eligible for dearness relief on accepted compassionate allowance.
After increasing the dearness relief, now the government will increase the dearness allowance of the employees by four percent. The central government has increased the dearness allowance to 38 percent. So far, state employees have been getting DA at par with central employees. Center has increased DA and it has been announced in other states also, now it is Madhya Pradesh’s turn. Since the Vidhansabha and Loksabha elections are going to be held in the coming years, the state government also does not want to keep any shortfall.
This will put an additional burden of Rs 700 crore on the state government between October and March 2023. That is, there will be an additional burden of Rs 104 crore every month. While giving arrears from July 1 to September 30, a lump sum amount of Rs 312 crore will be spent. A calculation is being done regarding this, how much arrears will be given in one go or weather it will be paid in installments.
