New Delhi: At the 68th National Film awards, the central state of Madhya Pradesh was awarded as the Most Film-Friendly state. This is the second time the state bagged the award. It was in 2017 that the state received the first award.

There were 13 states which participated in this category of the National Film Award. “Most film-friendly state award goes to Madhya Pradesh while most film-friendly (special mention) award goes to Uttarakhand and UP,” Neerja Sekhar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed joy on receiving the award. His tweet read-“Today at the 68th National Film Awards, MP has received the honour of ‘Most Film Friendly State’ award. Congratulations to #TeamMP, citizens and all the colleagues associated with the film industry for this award.”

There are around 50 categories with over 300 feature films and 150 non-feature films competing for the prize.
