Madhya pradesh: Madhya Pradeshs’ Priyanka Gupta was in for a shock after she received a bill amount of Rs Rs 3,419 crore due to which her father-in-law fell ill.
The incident is reported from Shiv Vihar Colony. After filing a complaint the state govt run electricity department called it a ‘human error’. On investigation the family was issued the correct bill that amoubted to Rs 1,300 only.
Ms Gupta’s husband Sanjeev Kankane said his father went into a state of shock after seeing the huge figure on the electricity bill for the domestic consumption for July.
He further said that the bill, released on July 20, was cross-verified through the portal of the Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MPMKVVC) but was found to be correct.
“An employee entered the consumer number in place of the units consumed in the software, resulting in the bill with a higher amount. The corrected bill of Rs 1,300 has been issued to the power consumer,” said MPMKVVC general manager Nitin Manglik. He further informed that action has been taken against the employee.
