Bhopal: The government of Madhya Pradesh will investigate fair price ration shops every month. The investigation teams will find out if one crore 25 lakh families of the state are benefitting from these ration ships. The teams will check the reality of distribution of ration and submit a report to the government.

The step to investigate ration shops have been taken in accordance with the chief minister’s public service campaign. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has received multiple complaints regarding irregularities in the distribution of ration. In view of this, the Food Civil Supplies Department has decided to conduct an investigation.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and the National Food Security Act, food grains have to be distributed through 2500 fair price shops of the state. Earlier in January 2022, the Food Supply Officer and the Food Officer were suspended for finding disturbances in Rajgarh district. Later actions were taken against Food Officers in Jhabua, Sheopur, and Dindori after receiving complaints regarding irregularities in food supply.
