Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: Country’s first Government Panchakarma and Wellness Center has been completed on the bank of Kaliasot Dam. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate this centre tomorrow. Now people will not have to travel to Kerala for Panchakarma. In Bhopal itself, therapists from Kerala will perform Panchakarma in the middle of a 5-star hotel facility.
Panchakarma is a method of Ayurvedic treatment. It means a combination of five different therapies. This process is done to rid the body of toxins released by diseases and malnutrition. Dr. Umesh Shukla, Principal of Pt. Khushilal Sharma Ayurvedic College said that this centre has been completed in two and a half years at a cost of Rs 10 crore. Right now a 150-bed Panchakarma unit is being operated in the Ayurvedic College.
About 200 patients get Panchakarma done daily. Keeping in view the increasing interest of the people towards Panchakarma and the increasing number of patients, a hi-tech unit has been set up. At present, there is a waiting period of one and a half months in the Panchkarma unit. This is probably the first Panchakarma and Wellness Unit in the country, which has been set up in a government institution.
The Panchakarma & Wellness Center has a total of 50 beds. In these, semi-private wards, deluxe rooms, and super deluxe rooms like 5-star hotels have been made. Along with single and double beds in the deluxe room, there will also be arrangements for the attendant to stay overnight. Beds have been arranged in the common hall for women and men in the semi-private ward.
The daily charge will be like these:
- Semi-Private Ward: Rs 700 per day (not including food)
- Deluxe Room: Rs 3500 per day (including food, stay, and panchakarma)
- Super Deluxe Room: Rs 4900 per day (inclusive of food, stay, and panchakarma)
Ayush Department and MP Tourism Department will operate this unit. The tourism department will handle the work for quality food and good housekeeping. The management of the Panchkarma Unit will bear the responsibility of the Ayurvedic College. People will also be able to book rooms and suites of their choice through the online portal for Panchakarma in this centre. People will also be able to see the views of Kaliasot Dam directly from the super deluxe room.
