Bhopal: The monsoon session of the MP assembly is scheduled to begin on Tuesday with the Opposition gearing up to corner the ruling BJP on several issues, including corruption, unemployment, and rising crime against women.

The session as per the schedule will have five sittings from September 13 to Sept 17th.The last sitting might be trimmed in view of the PM’s visit, however, there has been no update yet.

Meanwhile, assembly Speaker Girish Gautam had called for an all-party meeting later in the evening. On the contrary, Congress MLA and former minister Sajjan Singh Verma accused the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of evading discussion on vital issues like unemployment and inflation by keeping a short session.

The ruling BJP and the opposition Congress have also called a separate meeting of their MLAs. As per sources, the BJP’s legislatures will assemble at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s official residence, while the leader of opposition in the state Assembly Dr Govind Singh will chair a meeting of party MLAs at MPCC head Kamal Nath’s residence.
