MADHYA PRADESH: The Budget session for the MP Legislative assembly will commence from February 27th, officials said. The announcement of the month-long session was made by Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Interacting with the reporters Mishra said- The budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly has been called by the Governor from February 27 to March 27th.” Preparations are underway and the finance dept has declared a calendar of department level discussions at different levels and fixed the deadline for sharing the details with the department.
Apart from tabling the Budget, the house will also witness other discussions like public welfare topics through Question Hour, and Zero Hour. He however, did not specifyy the date of the presentation of the annual state budget.
Suggestions were invited from people of the state for the budget 2023-24. The category closed on January 26th. Finance minister Jagdish Deora said that the state would have a major role in the country’s becoming a five trillion-dollar economy. The MP govt has set a target to provide one lakh new jobs and aims to become a five trillion-dollar economy by 2025.
Between Jan 3-17 the dept heads including the additional chief secretary and principal secretary ranks officials held discussion with the other dept ministers.
