Bhopal: Voting for the first phase of the urban body election is under way in Madhya Pradesh. Voting shall happen in 133 urban bodies in 49 districts of the state through 13,148 polling booths.
Sources reveal that only 6.44% of voting has turned out in Bhopal whereas 18.33% in 8 municipal councils of Indore. 55.4% polling in Bhedaghat Municipal Council, 33.3% in Sihora municipality, 37.7% in Panagar, and 42.3% in Barela municipality till 11AM. Many leaders and prominent people were spotted casting their votes at their respective polling centers.
Bhopal Collector Avinash Lavania cast his vote along with his wife. He appealed to all voters to cast their vote. BJP Mayoral Candidate Pushyamitra Bhargav also cast his vote with his family at a booth in Sudama Nagar, Indore.
The second phase of the elections shall begin on July 13 and counting of votes shall be done on July 17 from 9AM.
