Bhopal– During the election period in Madhya Pradesh, a series of announcements has been made, and the government is gearing up to implement them. However, shocking figures have emerged regarding the expenditure on these announcements. The state, already burdened with a debt of Rs 3.30 lakh crore, will now incur an additional expenditure of Rs 21,864 crore annually due to the new announcements.
The government’s average monthly expenditure will rise from Rs 22,000 crore to Rs 23,822 crore, reflecting an increase of Rs 1,822 crore per month. This means an additional Rs 1,822 crore will be spent monthly compared to the current expenditure.
Some of the major expenses include an annual outlay of Rs 15,274 crore for the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, Rs 95.371 crore for village employment assistants’ honorarium, Rs 42 crore for Anganwadi workers’ honorarium, and Rs 1520 crore for employees’ dearness allowance.
Furthermore, the government has allocated Rs 720 crore annually for equal pay to contract workers, Rs 3600 crore for new recruitments, Rs 196 crore for the laptop scheme, and Rs 135 crore for the e-scooty scheme. The rural development department’s honorarium will amount to 56.38 crores annually.
With these new commitments, the state’s annual expenditure will reach a substantial amount, putting considerable pressure on its finances.
