Jabalpur- The Lokayukta’s relentless campaign against corruption in Madhya Pradesh continues as the anti-corruption police arrested a Booth Level Officer (BLO) for allegedly accepting bribes. The accused BLO was apprehended red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe.
According to the reports, the accused, identified as Vishali Ram Kol, had demanded a bribe of Rs. 3,000 to include a voter’s name in the voter list. The complainant, Ahfaz, lodged a formal complaint with the Lokayukta against this act of extortion.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, a team of officials from the Lokayukta’s Anti-Corruption Police, led by DSP Surekha Paramar, Inspector Swapnil Das, and Inspector Manju Kiran, launched a joint operation to catch the BLO in the act. In a well-executed operation, Vishali Ram Kol was apprehended while accepting the bribe, with the anti-corruption officials conducting the arrest red-handed.
This arrest highlights the Lokayukta’s commitment to upholding transparency, accountability, and integrity in government services. The accused BLO’s actions violated the law and eroded citizens’ trust in the electoral process. The Lokayukta’s office has reiterated its resolve to continue curbing corruption and ensuring public services are delivered without bribery and illegal activities.
