Bhopal: Intermittent rain began in most districts of Madhya Pradesh today morning as the area of increased depression from Bay of Bengal entered the state. It has been raining heavily today and meteorologists believe that there is a possibility of heavy rains in the capital city in the evening.

As recorded today morning, Umaria received 142.6 mm of rainfall, Sidhi 92mm, Guna 70.2, and Narsinghpur 65mm. The capital city, Bhopal recorded a rainfall of 25mm, Gwalior 19.9mm, Indore 18.8mm, Khajuraho 34, and Jabalpur 30.2 mm. According to the information revealed by the meteorological Department, this season the capital has received 1308.2mm of rainfall and at present, the area of depression is over North-East Madhya Pradesh and the adjoining state of Chhattisgarh.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) tweeted today that “Depression lay centered at 0830 hrs IST of 21st August 2022 over Northwest Chhattisgarh about 80 km east-northeast of Umaria”.

Apart from the capital, Sagar, Ujjain, Narmadapuram may also receive heavy rainfall in the evening. The heavy rain lashes in the state are likely to there till Tuesday.
