Indore- Indore is all set to host a seven-day Divya Kala Mela, allowing people to explore the exceptional products and craftsmanship of differently-abled entrepreneurs and artisans. The fair, commencing on Saturday, will showcase diverse art skills from various parts of the country, featuring attractive packaged food and products available for sale. Over 20 artisans and producers with disabilities from different states and Union Territories will exhibit their skills at the event, open from 10 am to 10 pm daily. The fair will also feature cultural programs to enhance the experience.
Organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the ‘Divya Kala Mela’ aims to highlight the talents of differently-abled individuals and promote their economic empowerment. Products such as handicrafts, handlooms, embroidery works, and packaged food from regions like Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states will be on display and available for purchase. Union Minister will inaugurate the Social Justice and Empowerment fair, Dr Virendra Kumar, with the presence of Shankar Lalwani.
Divya Kala Mela is a powerful platform to promote and market the products and skills of differently-abled individuals. This year’s fair marks the fifth edition, following successful events in Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, and Guwahati. With an array of offerings ranging from home decor, lifestyle products, clothing, stationery, and eco-friendly items to canned food, organic products, toys, gifts, jewellery, and clutch bags, the fair supports the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative by bringing these unique creations to the masses.
