Indore: The first Agriculture Deputies Meeting, a three-day event will begin on Monday at Indore wherein around a hundred delegates from G20 member countries, guest nations, and international organizations are expected to participate.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the exhibition on the first day of the three-day meeting. As United Nations announced 2023 the Year of Millets, millets and value-added food products will be a major attraction besides stalls from animal husbandry and fisheries.
The delegates will also enjoy the experience of the rich Indian heritage through the heritage walk to Rajwada Palace and an excursion to Mandu Fort Gala dinners and cultural performances will provide a taste of Indian cuisine and culture.
Madhya Pradesh is the second largest state in India in terms of land and is an agrarian economy with 35% share of GVA coming from the primary sector; especially agriculture and allied sectors. Around 152.05 lakh hectares of total land in the state, 307.56 lakh hectare of land is under cultivation. Besides being the largest producer onions, the state is also known as Soya Pradesh for 60% of the national production of Soya happens in the state.
