Madhya Pradesh: IMD in its recent post on Wednesday issued a red alert for 18 districts and an orange alert for six districts forecasting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall until August 14th.
Districts like Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Dhar, Indore, Dewas, Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Betul, Harda, Hoshangabad, Seoni, and Balaghat have been issued a red alert notice while Jhabua, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Jabalpur, and Katni are also expected to be hit by heavy rainfall.
Fairly widespread to widespread rains with very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are likely in some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra the IMD said in its daily weather update on Thursday.
“A well-marked low-pressure area persists over Madhya Pradesh while an east-west shear zone runs across North Peninsular India. These systems are likely to produce heavy to very heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh over the coming days”- the update read.
