A terrible accident happened this morning in Ajangaon of the Bistan police station area of Khargone district. It occurred when a BPCL tanker filled with petrol and diesel overturned. As soon as the tanker overturned, it caught fire. Two people died and 23 people were badly burnt in the accident. All the injured were immediately taken to the government hospital. Of these, 17 seriously scorched people have been referred to Indore. One of the dead is a woman.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and former CM Kamal Nath have expressed deep sorrow over the accident. As soon as the tanker overturned, there was a loud sound. Hearing the sound, the nearby villagers immediately ran towards the accident spot. Just in the meantime, after overturning the tanker, there was a huge explosion in it. Due to this, the people standing around were also engulfed in flames. The two people died there because of the toxic flames.
As soon as the news was received, Collector Kumar Purushottam and SP Dharamvir Singh reached the district hospital and saw the arrangements for the treatment of the injured. The accident happened in Anjangaon of Bistan police station, about 30 km from Khargone district headquarters. It is being told that the tanker filled with petrol and diesel overturned due to a deteriorating balance. The deceased woman has been identified as Rangubai. The rest of the people are now being treated in the hospital. Both the driver and the conductor ran away after the incident, as per reports.
