Indore: An official from the food department has been suspended for allegedly bribing a spice trader located near a food department office in Indore on Saturday.

This incident came to the fore after a video of the officer demanding a bribe went viral on social media. Reportedly, the food officer identified as Raju Solanki and sample assistant Sudhakar Banasinghe collected nearly Rs 10,000. Taking cognizance of the incident, ADM Abhay Bhatkar has released a suspension order for both officers.

Preliminary investigations have revealed officer Raju Solanki has been into bribery earlier and a record of his acts was also forwarded to the CM. After this, he was issued a transfer notice despite which his complaints never seized.
