BHOPAL: A Namibian cheetah cub died on Tuesday said forest officers. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF-Wildlife) Uttam Sharma confirmed the death stating the cub was undergoing a treatment after the surveillance team found him sick during a routine check.
The SC had ordered to relocate the feline. Following advise from experts that stated KNP was not sufficient to help the big cats breed. Moreover death of three cheetahs so fsr has prompted authorities to reconsider alternative habitat.
In the month of March, Jwala in KNP gave birth to four cubs at the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The information regarding the birth of cubs was shared by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, who also shared the pictures of the cubs on Twitter.
At present there are only 17 Cheetahs overall and three cubs that were brought to India under project Cheetah.
