Raipur- Two jawans of the CRPF sustained injuries following an IED blast planted by the Naxals in Bijarour district. Chhattisgarh Police confirmed that CRPF officers have been airlifted to Raipur for treatment. the injured jawans have sustained injuries confirmed Bijapur SP Anjaneya Varshney.
Earlier on Saturday, Sukma Naxalite was arrested with explosives. The Naxalite, identified as Suresh Markam, was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. During a search operation in the woodland region of the Sukma district, Markam was detained by a joint team of the Sukma police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). From Markam, the police seized several explosives, including gelatin sticks and detonators.
The assassination of a police officer and a civilian are being blamed on Markam, a member of the Communist Party of India (Maoist). He is charged with taking part in extortion in his community as well as other disruptive acts.
According to the authorities, Markam’s arrest marks a significant victory in the Sukma district’s campaign against Naxalism. They said that Markam was preparing to carry out a significant assault nearby and that his capture had prevented a terrible disaster.
Additionally, the police have pleaded with the populace to aid them in their campaign against Naxalism. They advised the public to alert the police about the Naxalites so they might be apprehended and prosecuted.
The arrest of Suresh Markam is a major victory for the security forces in their fight against Naxalism.
