Bhopal: The Cybercrime Bhopal busted a cyber racket where the accused promised jobs in the name of OLX and defrauded Rs 25 lakh. According to the police, the three fraudsters hail from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
On preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the accused would pose as OLX employers and send the offer letter through Whats App. Later, they would ask the victims to transfer a certain amount of money to process joining formalities like gate pass, salary account, online training and the contract.
The incident came to light after Sheikh Masood, 35-year-old hunting for a job lodged a complaint with the cyber police after he was swindled for Rs 19,300 in the name of a job in Big Bazar.
During a search operation, police seized 6 mobiles, on laptop and a debit card along with cash of Rs 1,97,00. The accused are identified as Satish Kumar Singh aged 32 resident of Jahangirapuri Delhi, Ankit Dubey 26 hailing from Noida and Dheeraj Kumar resident of Delhi.
