Indore: Carcasses of nearly 150 cows were found dead in a cow shed which is operated by Ahilya Mata Gaushala Jeev Daya Mandal Trust at Padmi Indore.
According to reports, the incident came to light after a few Cow Sevaks on Wednesday, visited the cowsheds. After seeing carcasses and skeletons of many cows lying in the open space behind the cowshed, they recorded a video of the incident lodged a complaint at Khudali police station.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, Gaushala manager Ashok Ramdin has been arrested. Nearly 21 badges from the skeletons of cows from the spot were collected. According to DSP9HQ) Ajay Bajpai, the primary investigation has revealed the cows were brought to this shed as they were ill. With the availability of open land in the vicinity of the Gaushala, the dead cows were then dumped in the fields for the stray animals to feed on.
The police have reportedly interacted with the trustees of the Gaushala and are preparing the report for further investigation.
It was nearly a month ago when hundreds of cow carcasses were recovered from a cow shelter owned a BJP leader.
