Bhopal- On International Tiger Day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan enthusiastically participated in a state-level event held at the Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium in Bhopal. During the program, he expressed joy and pride as Madhya Pradesh was again bestowed with the esteemed “Tiger State” title for the second consecutive time.

CM Chouhan proudly shared the strides made in tiger conservation within the state. He highlighted that there were 526 tigers four years ago, according to the tiger census, but now that number has risen significantly to 785 in Madhya Pradesh. The CM extended his congratulations to all citizens of our country for contributing to tiger conservation despite facing various challenges and obstacles.

Furthermore, he emphasised that Madhya Pradesh’s efforts extend beyond being recognised as a “tiger state.” The state has also emerged as a player in conserving species such as leopards and wolves earning it recognition as a “leopard state” and “wolf state.” CM Chouhan emphasised Madhya Pradesh’s role in endeavours towards tiger conservation.

Speaking to the audience, CM Chouhan reaffirmed the government’s dedication to protecting leopards. Discussed initiatives aimed at ensuring their safety. He discussed the efforts in the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary and the Kuno area, emphasising that these endeavours are both challenging and essential for protecting wildlife.
